Young people need experiences outside the classroom to become committed, responsible and fulfilled citizens of the world.

As a non-formal education framework, the Award can play a vital role in providing opportunities for young people to develop essential life skills, increase their employability and foster their creativity and innovation.

The Mérite Jeunesse is part of an international Award program. The Award is about personal challenge and development and is adaptable to each participant’s interests and abilities. It presents young people with a balanced program of voluntary activities, encouraging personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility and service to their community.
