BTS Game – GOPRO Kick-Off: METAL
BTS
Two classes.
Two skillsets.
One project.
In the GOPRO – Group Projects course, first-year students from:
– BTS Game Art & Game Design (BTS AG : https://ag.btshub.lu/)
– BTS Game Programming & Game Design (BTS GP : https://gp.btshub.lu/)
work in an interdisciplinary manner from day one.
This semester’s challenge?
⚙️ METAL ⚙️
The groups have just been revealed.
The theme is set.
Now the real work begins.
Over the coming months, they will:
🛠 Design and build a physical arcade machine
🎮 Develop a fully playable arcade game
🎨 Create the art direction, assets and visual identity
💻 Program gameplay, mechanics and interactions
🔊 Integrate sound, UI and game logic
This is not a “small school exercise”.
This is a real collaborative production pipeline:
Art × Code × Game Design.
Students learn how to:
– Work in multidisciplinary teams
– Handle deadlines and project roles
– Transform a theme into a complete game experience
– Present a finished product publicly
What does “Metal” mean?
Industrial dystopia? Fantasy steel worlds? Heavy vibes?
That’s their creative decision.
And in a few months, we’ll see real arcade machines powered by their ideas.
If you want to:
🎮 Create games instead of only playing them
🎨 Turn your art into interactive worlds
💻 Bring mechanics to life with code
🤝 Work in real project teams
Then BTS Game Art and Game Design or the BTS Game Programming and Game Design might be your next level.
